ABIEZER "ABE" REYES

Full-Stack Developer

Over 25 years working with technology in business environments, shipping production software since 2023. I design systems that work, from AI automation to scalable architectures. The engineers I respect most never stop sharpening their tools, and neither do I.

Before tech, I led a five-person medic team in the Army and earned three promotions at Toyota over seven years.

What's stayed consistent: I stay calm when things break, I explain technical stuff so it makes sense the first time, and I follow through on what I say I'll do.

Professional Experience

Full Stack Developer

November 2025 - Present

needthisdone.com | Professional Services Platform

  • Integrated five services (Vercel, Railway, Supabase, Redis, Stripe) with graceful degradation so one failure doesn't take down the whole system
  • Built optimistic cart updates. Click add to cart and it appears instantly, syncs in the background, rolls back automatically if something fails
  • Created a quotes-to-payment workflow with status tracking at every step: quote request, pricing, deposit, and project kickoff
  • Wired up Stripe webhooks to update the database, clear caches, and log transactions. Handles edge cases like failed charges and renewals
  • Evolved the schema through dozens of migrations, adding features incrementally and fixing security gaps while keeping data intact

Technical Operations Specialist

April 2025 - December 2025

Acadio | Educational Platform for Financial Certifications

  • Started as a contractor doing API integration work at an early-stage startup. Proved value quickly and got brought on for expanded responsibilities
  • Became the person the CEO came to with technical questions because my explanations made sense to him
  • Designed automated workflows to eliminate manual processes and improve team efficiency
  • Built Python scripts to rescue unusable content - converted entire textbooks from messy PDFs into clean HTML for the learning platform
  • Handled data migrations during client onboarding. Turned multi-day headaches into same-day completions while improving accuracy
  • Built Excel macros and VBA scripts for clients to automate repetitive data tasks

Freelance Web Developer

January 2023 - March 2024

Self-Employed | Independent Contractor

  • Built websites and automation tools for clients while learning the craft
  • Went from studying tutorials to building things clients actually use

Finance and Insurance Manager

Spring 2017 - Winter 2023

Toyota of Orlando | Salesperson → Sales Manager → F&I Manager

  • Earned three promotions over seven years at a high-volume dealership moving 10-30 cars daily
  • Worked with 3-7 customers daily, walking them through their options and putting together financing across different lenders
  • Built trust with customers by explaining options clearly. Became the go-to person when teammates had complicated deals

Military Enrollment Counselor

2012 - 2017

Full Sail University | International Admissions → Military Student Services

  • Started in International Admissions, then moved to Military Student Services where my Army background gave me credibility with veterans navigating civilian life
  • Guided service members and families through GI Bill benefits, program costs, and fitting education around military schedules

Combat Medic, Corporal (E-4)

1996 - 2001

U.S. Army | Fort Hood, TX & Fort Bragg, NC

  • Led a team of 3 medics and 2 combat lifesavers. Delivered emergency care where mistakes cost lives and hesitation wasn't an option
  • Learned to stay calm under pressure, follow protocols precisely, and take responsibility for my team's performance

Education

Full Sail University (2016 - 2017): Web Design & Development coursework. After teaching myself web technologies since the early 2000s, this program provided the structure to take those skills to a professional level. Straight A's while working full-time.

Self-Directed Learning (2016 - 2023): Eight years of consistent skill development while working full-time. Progressed from tutorials to building production applications. This sustained commitment built the foundation for professional development work.

Structured Coursework (2023 - Present): freeCodeCamp Full Stack Developer Certification (in progress), Khan Academy CS Principles (100% mastery), Vue.js Complete Guide, 100 Days of Code. Filling in gaps and sharpening skills I've been building for years.

U.S. Army Medical Department Center & School (1996 - 2001): Combat Medic certification. Graduated top 10% of class.
